The Hair Loss Haven

The Hair Loss Haven is an Irish hair loss support community dedicated to bringing people together through connection, education and shared experiences. Founded by two women who understand the challenges of hair loss first-hand, we host events, workshops and support groups to help people feel informed, supported and less alone. Offering educational events, support groups and resources for people experiencing alopecia, chemotherapy-related hair loss, hair thinning and other forms of medical hair loss, our mission is to provide a safe, inclusive space where people can access trusted information, connect with others and regain confidence.

Who We Are

The Hair Loss Haven was founded by myself, Saoirse, and Caoilfhinn, after being brought together through our own experiences of hair loss and realising just how important it is to have people around you who genuinely understand.

We both live with alopecia, so we know first-hand that hair loss is about so much more than hair. It can affect your confidence, your identity, your relationships and how you feel walking into a room. It can also feel incredibly isolating, especially when the people around you care deeply but don’t fully understand what you’re going through.

I’m the founder of Halo Studio and Haló Luxury Lace Wigs, and my own experience of losing my hair to alopecia is a huge part of why I do what I do today. Alongside my lived experience, I have a background in healthcare and have gone on to further study skin and hair science, allowing me to combine personal understanding with professional knowledge when supporting people experiencing hair loss.

Caoilfhinn also lives with alopecia and has been incredibly open about her own journey, using her experience to raise awareness, create connection and help others feel less alone. She is also the 2026 Westmeath Rose, giving her another platform to continue speaking openly about alopecia, confidence and the realities of living with hair loss.

Together, we created The Hair Loss Haven because we wanted to build the kind of community we both would have benefited from when we first started losing our hair.

Through in-person events, relaxed meet-ups, wellness experiences and ongoing peer support, we’ve created a space for anyone affected by hair loss — whether you’ve just noticed your first patch, have lived with hair loss for years, wear wigs or alternative hair, go without, are undergoing medical treatment, or are simply trying to figure out what comes next.

There’s no pressure to look a certain way, share more than you want to or explain yourself.

Just a community of people who get it.

Why We Created The Hair Loss Haven

We created The Hair Loss Haven because we both know first-hand just how isolating hair loss can feel.

When you lose your hair, people around you can be incredibly supportive, but unless you’ve experienced it yourself, it can be difficult to fully understand the impact it can have on your confidence, identity and everyday life. Sometimes you don’t need advice or someone to try to fix it — you just need to be around people who genuinely get it.

We wanted to create the kind of space we both would have needed when we first started losing our hair. Somewhere you could meet others with similar experiences, ask questions without feeling embarrassed, share as much or as little as you want, and feel completely comfortable whether you wear a wig, topper, head covering or nothing at all.

The Hair Loss Haven is about creating real connection and making sure that nobody feels like they have to navigate hair loss alone.

A community we wish we had when we needed it most, created for anyone who needs it now.

Who Is The Hair Loss Haven For?

The Hair Loss Haven is for anyone affected by hair loss, no matter the cause, stage or severity.

You might have just noticed your first patch of hair loss, be experiencing thinning, have a recent diagnosis, or have lived without hair for years. You might wear a wig, topper or hair system, cover your hair in other ways, or choose to wear nothing at all.

Our community welcomes people of all ages experiencing all forms of hair loss, including alopecia, chemotherapy-related hair loss, hormonal or postpartum hair loss, female or male pattern hair loss, scarring alopecia, medically related hair loss, unexplained thinning and more.

You do not need to have a formal diagnosis, and you do not need to have lost a certain amount of hair to belong here. We know that hair loss can affect everyone differently, and there is no such thing as being “not bad enough” to need support.

We also welcome family members, partners and loved ones who want to better understand and support someone experiencing hair loss.

If hair loss has affected your life in any way, there is a place for you here.

What We Do

The Hair Loss Haven is about bringing people together, creating connection and making hair loss feel a little less isolating. We host in-person events, relaxed meet-ups and wellness experiences where people affected by hair loss can connect with others who genuinely understand. From our larger community events to smaller experiences like Wigless Wellness, everything we do is designed to feel welcoming, relaxed and completely pressure-free.

We also have an online support community, giving members a space to ask questions, share experiences, offer advice, celebrate wins, have a rant when needed, or simply connect with people who get it.

Alongside peer support, we aim to share honest conversations, practical information and education around hair loss, while helping to raise awareness and reduce the stigma that can still surround it.

There is never any pressure to share your story, remove your wig or hairpiece, or look a certain way. You can come exactly as you are, take part as much or as little as you want, and know that you are surrounded by people who understand.

Join Our WhatsApp Community

Sometimes the biggest comfort is simply having people to talk to who genuinely understand.

Our Hair Loss Haven WhatsApp Community is a supportive space for anyone affected by hair loss to connect, ask questions, share experiences, swap tips and advice, or simply have a chat with people who get it.

Whether you’ve just started noticing hair loss, have recently received a diagnosis, have lived with it for years, wear wigs or alternative hair, or choose to go without, you are welcome here.

There is absolutely no pressure to introduce yourself, share your story or take part in every conversation. You can chat as much or as little as you feel comfortable with — even if you just want to join and know the support is there when you need it.

We also welcome family members, partners and loved ones who want to better understand and support someone experiencing hair loss.

For privacy, we have an admin approval feature on the group for new members.

Feel free to join using the link below, an admin will approve your request to join as soon as possible. Alternatively, if you reach out to either Saoirse or Caoilfhinn, we can add you ourselves!

A supportive community, right there when you need it.

Past Events

From the very beginning, The Hair Loss Haven has been about creating real-life spaces where people affected by hair loss can come together, connect and feel understood.

Our events are designed to be relaxed, welcoming and completely pressure-free. Whether someone arrives with a friend, comes alone, wears a wig or hairpiece, or chooses to go without, everyone is welcome exactly as they are.

From our first Hair Loss Haven community event, which brought together people with different experiences of hair loss for a day of connection, honest conversations, education and support, to smaller experiences like our Wigless Wellness morning, each event has reminded us exactly why we created this community.

For many people, our events have been the first time they have ever been in a room with others who truly understand what living with hair loss can feel like — and seeing the friendships, conversations and connections that have come from that has been incredibly special for us.

Take a look back at some of our favourite moments so far.

Our Very First Hair Loss Haven Event- Annebrook House Hotel, Mullingar, Westmeath. March 2026.

(We were so nervous nobody would come - but we ended up running out of goodie bags!)

Our First Wigless Wellness Morning - Anam Sauna, Kildare. June 2026.

(10 Years ago I never would have gone to a sauna or anywhere I had to take my wig off. It's so nice to be able to do it as part of a group who understand the feeling of how far & how tough that journey to acceptence can be!)
